South Granville photo installation
Hill's Dry Goods pays homage to James Hill, a respected leader in Vancouver's retail industry and father to a third generation of Hill family retailers. The Hill family can trace their business roots to 1914 when Tom Reid opened Kerrisdale Dry Goods on 41st avenue across the street from the current Hill’s of Kerrisdale location. James Hill's Father, John Hill, purchased Tom Reids Marpole location in 1945. James worked with his father at Reid's Dry Goods while pursuing his education and by the age of 23, James had taken the reins of running the family business.

In 1960 James and his brother Forbes, purchased Kerrisdale Dry Goods and moved their business back to the original Kerrisdale location renaming their new store Hill's of Kerrisdale. Today, Hill's of Kerrisdale remains a cornerstone in Vancouver's retail landscape and is the flagship store to Blue Ruby Jewellery, Ray Rickburn Fine Men's Apparel and now introduces Hill's Dry Goods.

Hill's Dry Goods opened its doors in December 2015 in a restored historic building on 4th avenue in the heart of Kitsilano. We offer a distinctly curated selection of the most desirable brands and accessories in women's fashion while our Blue Ruby Jewellery department features the freshest designs from jewellery’s most creative innovators. Hill's Dry Goods carries on James Hill's uncompromising vision, reflecting the history of Hill's of Kerrisdale through the eyes of the next generation. Hill's Dry Goods, South Granville opened in December 2017.
